Mini Reviews: Katy Perry: Part of Me and Beautiful Creatures

Katy Perry: Part of Me
Genre:
Documentary
Director:
Dan Culforth
Jane Lipsitz
Cast:
Katy Perry

The life, career and music of singer Katy Perry as we follow her on tour.

Katy Perry: Part of Me is the next concert-documentary movie I watched after Glee: The 3D Concert Movie. I think I like that kind of movie. I want to watch more movies like that. So I choose this. I am not a big fan of hers. But I like her songs. I thought the movie is about Katy Perry's tour only. But turned out, her crews, manager, personal assistant, her friends and even her family speak out about who Katy is. Katy's marriage life with Russel Brand also showed here. So sad when that relationship did not work out. But I relieved Katy can stand out and live her perfect life. She just has to remind herself ;)

Favorite scene: Katy's big sister, Angela, joins her on stage as Kathy Beth Terry. Hilarious!

Beautiful Creatures
Genre:
Fantasy
Director:
Richard LaGravenese
Cast:
Alden Ehrenreich, Alice Englert, Jeremy Irons, Viola Davis, Emmy Rossum, Thomas Mann and Emma Thompson

Ethan longs to escape his small Southern town. He meets a mysterious new girl, Lena. Together, they uncover dark secrets about their respective families, their history and their town.

Beautiful Creatures was fine. I was kinda bored at first. I even had to re-watched it three times and read spoiler from Wikipedia until I understand the story line. At once I have a thought that it is similar with Twilight, full of disgusting kissing scenes with sexes reversed. But I think this one is better. Englert's acting was really good when her character is turning into darkness, sort of. Then Ehrenreich was fun guy with average face hehehe. It made me kinda curious about the novel :D

Favorite scene: Ethan and Lena have a fight on the road. Lena was so angry then she set a rain on Ethan, just on the area where Ethan stands. Kinda funny :p
