30 Books To Movies: Ayat Ayat Cinta

The book

Fahri bin Abdillah is a poor, intelligent student who wins a scholarship to complete his graduate degree at Egypt's esteemed Al Azhar University. Very disciplined and dedicated by nature, Fahri embraces his life in Cairo, completing his studies and translation of religious books. Life changes drastically in Egypt for he suddenly finds himself surrounded by four beautiful, distinctly different women.

Maria Girgis, a shy, open-minded Coptic-Christian neighbor who is attracted to the teachings of the Holy Al Quran, finds herself falling in love with Fahri. Nurul, a student at Al Azhar like Fahri, is the Muslim daughter of a renowned Indonesian cleric. Noura, an abused Egyptian neighbor, develops strong romantic feelings for Fahri, who in turn simply sympathizes with her situation.

Aisha, a German Turkish student in Cairo haunts Fahri with her beautiful eyes. Following an incident on the metro where Fahri defends her against narrow minded bigoted Muslims, both immediately develop feelings for each other. (source)

This is the first Islamic novel that I have read. Perhaps. I never been enjoyed read a Islamic book or novel before. They are too hard to understand for my age. But I heard about how good and powerful this book then try to search the eBook version. I got it for free! Yeah!

At the beginning, I not really like it. There are an introducing of characters and it's boring. The story started more interesting when Noura raped and she blame it to Fahri. I love the story although some say that Fahri is too perfect to be true. Err, that is true tho. But from him, we can know how to be a muslim that Qur'an's says. I even cried when read the ending.

The movie

When everybody, an also my mom, very enthusiastic with the movie, I'm just passed it and watch another movie. I'm not excited with the movie. It's always burns my imagination. It isn't their fault actually. I just hate when something or someone ruins it.

But then I watched it month after the movie off from the cinema. I have no choices. The national channel played it in prime time. So many an ordinary things, for me it's like an Indonesia soap opera things there. Maria's illness was so out of date. The movie also make a polygamy issue appear. Yet people droves watch it.

Overall, the movie was so good and give a good air for Islamic movies here.

My choice?

The movie. Hahaha, I wrote above that I hate it but I select it. It is because it's more easy than the book.

I found it from . . oh, I forget. It's similar to the movie poster. What do you think?

Curious? Watch it below.
